Glad you joined us this week at FMS! Post a Comment. I think that pears were the driving force behind the colours I decided to use for this sketch. I confess that ripe pears fresh from the tree are one of my favourite treats each fall. Few fruits are as juicy and as tasty as Bartlett Pears.
Look at the yellows, greens and golds. Then, there's the partridge! What exactly is a "partridge" anyway? And why is it in the pear tree? The song, Twelve Days of Christmaswas thought to have been a children's game played on the Twelfth Night, where each person added a verse and the next singer had to remember all the past verses plus create a new one. And the Red Legged Partridge from France where the song originated, would perch in trees, pear trees as often as not! So I have a lot to share with you from the retreat over the next few days, but I also have all my craft gear to put away and a Christmas Stamper's Dozen tomorrow night to prepare for, so I'll leave you with the lyrics to the song:.
Subsequent verses follow the same pattern, each adding one new gift and repeating all the earlier gifts, so that each verse is one line longer than its predecessor:. Share This.I have to say that the design team over at Freshly Made Sketches has been on a roll for the last month. Talk about some amazing sketches and crazy cool inspiration cards!!
No surprise, but the trend continues this week. For those who participated in month 1 of my Stamps on the Fly, this card uses some of the supplies you already have! Then I cut the sentiment with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits out of more foil. I added a little Rhinestone to the center which shows more in person. The crossing layer is a piece of the new White Cotton Ribbon wrapped around more foil. This card made me so happy and I can see it being one of my go-to personal cards this year.
More work to do for later in the month!! I am, however, all ready for a blog hop that starts on Friday. Plan to see that next week! Until then, I hope you have some stamping time. Thanks so much for stopping in!

This is such a pretty card! Thanks for sharing with us at FMS this week! Sunday, 26 October Freshly Made Sketches OK, so now shamelessly taking advantage of day three of a four day weekend, with a second card and post on the same day.
Freshly Made Sketches - I love them because so many people enter and it's such fun to see how so many people interpret the same inspiration. The sketches are always so great - in the old days, we'd have wished for a book to keep them all in, instead of an on-line archive! Anyway, saw this sketch the day it was released and spent some time thinking about it. So many ideas but none settled. Until today, when I saw my Kinda Eclectic set.Tamil nadu dsp
